Frequently Asked Questions
Question 1) How are these tours created?
That's like asking Coca-Cola or the colonel at KFC for their secret recipes! We can't tell you everything but we'll give you a hint, we take a group of pictures at your facility and bring them back to the office. A great deal of time is spent at the computer processing the images, stitching, optimizing and coding in order to arrive at the product that you see.
Question 2) How do I get the tour on my website?
The tours are created and delivered to you via internet file transfer. The files are then uploaded to your web server and displayed for the world to view. New View Photography can host the tours for you for a additional charge. We will gladly work with your webmaster to ensure that your tour is up and running in the way that you intended.
Question 3) Does the viewer need "special" software?
The short answer - No. The long answer - Our tours are based on the latest Adobe Flash technology. It is estimated that Flash Player is already on more than 90% of the world's computers. In the event tha a viewers computer does not have flash, the tour will redirect them to the Adobe website where they will be walked through the simple steps to install Flash Player.
Question 4) How much does a Virtual Tour cost?
Pricing will vary based on the clients needs and chosen options. Every Virtual Tour is fully customized and crafted. Numerous options are available; custom audio, videos, still images, descriptive hotspots, "auto-tour" and URL web links. Consultations and estimates are available.
Question 5) What is our service area?
New View Photography is based in central North Carolina. We will travel almost anywhere to service our clients need. Reasonable travel fees will appy.
Question 6) Download speed vs Image quality?
Viewing these virtual tours requires that the image files be downloaded to the viewers computer, just like a standard web page - the larger the file the longer it will take to download. As you "shrink" files, in order to ensure faster download speed, you reduce the quality of the image. We strive to find the perfect blend between speed and quality. If there is ever a question of which way to go, we always choose image quality over speed.
Question 7) What type of equipment do you use?
All images for the 360 degree sphericals are taken using a 21 megapixel Canon 5D MKII. We also use a Canon 40D for some of our still imagery. A vast assortment of lenses are used to capture the details for your tour.
Question 8) Can these tours be distributed via CD/DVD?
Yes. We can create tours specifically tailoerd for CD/DVD distribution. All materials and works are copyrighted by New View Photography, Inc. We can produce these discs for you or there will be "mastering" fee in order to provide the disc from which you can create your own copies.
Question 9) What if something changes?
So you purchase a virtual tour... 6 months later you make a major change to one of the areas in the tour... what do you? Simply put you call us back. We keep archives of each tour that we create. This allows us to visit your facility, take the needed images of the changed area and incorporate the changes into your tour. You don't need to pay for a complete tour, you only pay for the changes!
Question 10) How many 360's can there be in a tour?
Simple - As many or as few as you would like to have. We have created single image tours up to 79 image tours.
