Object VR or Interactive Object Movies

Object VRs - these are interactive "movies" created from a sequence or sequences of photographs taken of a subject or item.

These "movies" are interactive in that the viewer can control the view of the object . In a basic single row Object VR, the viewer can control the objects movement left or right. A more complex multi row Object VR may consist of images from several different angles and may also allow the viewer to zoom in or out. As you can imagine Object VR photography is very useful in marketing items and products on the internet today.

The "smoothness" while turning, of an object movie is determined by the number of images used to create the movie. The more images used, the smoother the flow of the Object VR. The example to the right, shows a single row, 12 image Object VR of a small porcelin dog statue. This example has a zoom control as well as a "switch" that will allow you to alternate between turning the image and sliding the image. This feature works only after the "Zoom" key has been used at least once. As a comparison the video camera at the bottom right is constructed from 36 individual images.
